ICT in Education has now became one of the backbone of education in this 21st century teaching pedagogy. Knowing the fact, I have decided to take this module, and enhance my knowledge in this area. This was a great advantage to me. I could keep an abreast of ICT knowledge which has benefited me in my day to day teachings and in managerial field as the principal.
The following are the topics that I have had carried out the projects which took me trough to world of ICT:
1. Use of Google to conduct survey on any field.
This is one of the project topics which I found very interesting and informative. Here I could design the questions and share these questions in the url/link. Doing so, one can learn and get new insights, which at the end benefits students.
Therefore, I commit to continue using this knowledge and share my ideas and knowledge, and also learn from others through Google.
2. To search Ten useful Educational websites.
Well, the another scholarly project I have carried out is on the a fore mentioned topic. Conducting project on this activity, was very useful to me as a teacher. I knew how to look for educational information and download it and use in my classroom daily teachings.
However, I faced some hick ups due to the poor internet connectivity, while I was carrying out this project work. Yet I have learned a lot from this assignment, and I will continue to carry these knowledge through out my teaching carrier.
3. Create interactive Flash-based quiz using Wodershare Quiz Creater.
This is the project work assigned for groups to create 20 different questions with animated images, flash movies and sound effect.
We put our heart and soul into this project, contacting amongst ourselves through phones and social media, like wechat and facebook. However, we could not make this project a quality one due to poor internet connectivity, lack of knowledge on wondershare and group members' geographical locations.
Any ways, whatever little I have had learned from this project, I am using this knowledge to share some information with my fellow teachers across the country. It also helps while I conduct quiz in the school.
Thus, I commit to use this knowledge through out my career or beyond.
4. Use of Camtesia 6.
It is the software which we can use for creating short video clips. And these clips we can use in our classroom teachings.
In this project we were asked to create video tutorial of 15 minutes. It was great project indeed. However, we encountered lot of difficulties due to poor internet connectivity. We had a taught time to upload the clips in the vle. Some how we managed to upload it in the vle.
Despite challenges and hardship we faced, we also learned many great ideas from this project. It helped me to create video clips, and now I can use this clips and teach in the class. This idea can be used in the school, even the teacher is out of station. But the teacher must create a lesson using camtesia 6. It will also help teachers reflect on their teaching after going through the clips that he or she has created, and improve own ways of teaching, which at last benefit our children in the school.
So, ICT in education module was timely and appropriate to a novice teacher like me in the field of ICT.
Hence, I commit to keep in taught it in all times to come.
